Forest Therapy

According to the Forestry Culture and Recreation Act, Article 2, Forest Therapy is for immune-strengthening and health-promoting activities, which utilize a variety of elements in the forest, such as scents, scenic views, etc.

Forest therapy is an activity to restore mental and physical health by utilizing various healing factors (beautiful landscape, phytoncide-antimicrobial volatile organic compounds derived from trees, sound, sunlight, oxygen) in the forest to help reduce stress and depression, increase positive emotions, and strengthen physical immunity.

After experiencing the forest healing program, participants' depression symptoms eased significantly, and the level of cortisol, a stress index, became significantly lower. In addition, participants' blood pressure was lowered, NK(natural killer) cells were activated helping to combat cancer, and atopic and asthma diseases improved.
